Do you ever feel like that? And what makes it extra hard is the thought that making a change is going to cause them to give up the success they've already created. Many of my clients have advanced degrees and are established in their area of expertise. So working so hard for that and then looking around and thinking, oh, this is it, I thought I'd be happier. Or maybe your career used to be more fulfilling, but now you just wonder what else is out there.


Being in this place of not knowing your next career move, not being 100% confident in your ideal path, the role that will let you up and have you energized for work, making the impact only you can using your skills and your talents. The people that want this change tend to fall into three categories. And I want you to listen and identify which you think you fall into, because I'm assuming if you listen to this, you want to grow, you want to change, you want something better for your career than what you have now. So let's play a game. I'm going to share these three categories and I want you to listen for where you think you are.


So number one, ready to go. So some of my clients, they know they want to change, they're tired of settling. Now is the time. They want to prioritize themselves and their career because they know life is short and they want to feel confident about their choices. They might have a couple of questions, but they're excited to get going.


They're like, let's do this. And then I have my researchers, my researchers like to do a lot of research. They like to check out their options, maybe get another certification, look into coaching, curious, but also read a lot of development books and think maybe with enough time they can just figure it out. They're motivated to make a change. They want to make a change, but they're just not in a huge rush because they're looking into what else is out there.


If you consider a program like the ones that I have you're interested and what it can do for you, as opposed to how you can get the most out of it no matter what, because you don't 100% believe in yourself yet. And so you need to have all of your Ducks in a row and are afraid to make a wrong decision and fail. Then I have my hopeful settlers. My hopeful settlers are stuck in how it's always been have some shame about wanting more because they think that they should be grateful. They want the change, they desperately want it, and they think if it's just doing things on their own, listening to podcasts like mine, maybe, but they're just wishful and hopeful for a change and they don't want to be too uncomfortable to make it happen.


The idea of investing in themselves, of spending time on themselves, they just aren't comfortable with it, and they're just hoping that it will happen on its own. They don't want to put themselves out there, and they're just too afraid that they're not going to get the results that they want, that there really isn't something better for them, and it's not really possible for them. So when you hear those three categories, the ready to go, the researchers, and the hopeful settlers, which category do you fall into? Where do you think you are? I know regardless of the category that you chose, you all want the same thing.


You all want to know what your next best move is, what role is going to finally have you loving your work, feeling you are in your purpose and being your best. I know what it's like to I have been there. I have been in every one of these categories over the years. I know how it feels to be more successful than a lot of people and still feel like it's not enough. I know how scary it is to invest in change and to go all in on yourself when you don't have any proof that's going to work for you yet.


I know what it's like to worry that you won't live up to your potential, but you'll never know what you could have done, what your life could have been like to look online for jobs and never know what you really want, or if it will be any better, craving promotions and titles and recognition to fill the void that you have for not being happy. I know what it's like to think it's going to get better. That if you know who leaves, that's going to change things, and that you just need to wait to get through another bonus cycle to see what happens with your boss, all of that. I get it. I've been there.


I climbed up myself from the hopeful settler to the researcher to the ready to go.
